The Troy Waterfront Farmers’ Market began its sixth season at 9 a.m. at the Troy Dock and Marina on River Street, between the Green Island and Collar City bridges, open Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through November. The producers-only market had grown to more than 50 vendors, selling meats, eggs, fruit, vegetables, maple syrup, honey, baked goods, cheeses, New York wines, plants, soaps, knitted goods and ceramics. The item also described the market as a community gathering place, with tables for nonprofits such as the Mohawk Hudson River Humane Society, the Albany Pine Bush Preservation Commission, Cornell Cooperative Extension and Rensselaer County Habitat for Humanity.
“At this market you can buy your products directly from the people who make and grow them.”
