The Record gave its Sunday Gallery cover to the winter market at Uncle Sam’s Atrium: oyster and shiitake mushrooms, soaps from the Log Cabin Soap Farm, Larry and Lawrence Reed looking over breads from the Crown Point Bread Company, music by Dirt Road Molly, and honey from Lucine Muller of Troy. The text noted that the market, in its sixth season, started in summer 2000 with 20 vendors and about 400 customers on a busy day, and now ran year-round with more than 60 vendor members. Winter hours were Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the outdoor market starting May 7.

“It’s common to have a couple of thousand shoppers on any given Saturday at the Market.”
