The story reported that the developers of 1 Monument Square had shrunk the project by about 10 percent, dropping 20 apartments and merging two buildings into one after issues with soil-bearing capacity and a water main. The estimated cost fell to $20 million to $23 million from the original $25 million, and the Planning Commission unanimously approved the preliminary site plan. The revised plan called for 80 to 85 market-rate apartments, a single six-story building and about 91 parking spaces. The Times Union reported that the project would continue to include the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market on the first floor, alongside space for a proposed restaurant — the market’s planned role as a ground-floor tenant.

“The project will continue to have the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market on the first floor along with space for the proposed restaurant.”

— Jeff Buell of Sequence Development, paraphrased in the Times Union
