Hundreds of people turned out on a sunny Saturday as the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market moved to its outdoor location in Riverfront Park, with 55 vendors and live music. Manager Monica Kurzejeski said the nonprofit market, which had existed for 10 years and operated 52 weeks a year, expected about 65 vendors by June. New vendors included Dream Puff Marshmallow, Brown’s Brewing Co. (which said it was the first brewery in the state licensed to sell beer at farmers’ markets) and American Buffalo, with Battenkill Dairy ice cream and Black River Nursery coming. Kurzejeski said vendors had donated about 1,000 pounds of food to local pantries the year before.
“Even though it’s all the same vendors, the summer market has a totally different feel.”
