In the Times Union’s farmers market Q&A series, Dale-Ila Riggs of The Berry Patch in Rensselaer County, which she runs with her husband, Don Miles, described growing pesticide-free berries, including enclosing their blueberries in fine-mesh netting against the invasive spotted wing drosophila. The farm sells at TWFM every Saturday from May through October.

“We are national leaders in pesticide-free berry production.”

— Dale-Ila Riggs, co-owner, The Berry Patch, in the Times Union
