Three weeks into its first season, the Times Union announced that the new Troy Waterfront Farmers Market would be open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Oct. 28 at the Troy Dock & Marina, near the Hedley Park Place parking lot and just north of the Green Island Bridge. The item noted that the market was sponsored by the Regional Farm & Food Project and gave Matt Lindstrom as the contact for more information. Planned features included food festivals, gardening clinics, farm and craft demonstrations, children’s activities such as petting zoos and storytelling, cooking by a “chef-at-the-market,” and music. Upcoming events were “Baby Animals” and a Chef-at-the-Market program that Saturday.
