In its “Good Morning” five-questions feature, The Record talked with Sue Kerber of Cohoes, who had started Rad Soap Company three years earlier and ran it full-time with her husband, Gregory, selling at venues including the Wednesday Troy Waterfront Farmers Market on Broadway. She described learning soapmaking by trial and error and growing the line to 21 bars of soap and five creams; Greg Kerber later served on the market’s board of directors.

“We went on the Internet and we kept on making mistakes — we have a whole pile of mistakes in the house. In the end we got great products, and we improve the products as we go.”

— Sue Kerber, in The Record
