The market moved to River Street, between Third Street and Broadway and around Monument Square, ahead of the Pig Out and the planned redevelopment of Riverfront Park. Manager Monica Kurzejeski said River Street businesses had welcomed the move, that the market had made the same move temporarily the year before during the Pig Out, and that it might stay for good depending on the park project. Ben Karis-Nix of Design It Together said he hoped it would. Vendors had less access to their trucks, and the city asked for layout changes so more streets could stay open. The market would stay on River Street, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, through October.

“So far the customers love it.”

“It’s like moving 70 businesses at once.”

— Monica Kurzejeski, market manager, in The Record
