The paper previewed the Troy Waterfront Farmers’ Market’s “Summer Fest,” set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday along the Hudson River at the Troy Dock and Marina, 433 River St., between the Troy Pub and Brewery and Hedley Park Place. The festival was to include activities for kids and families, free food giveaways and live music by Michael Eck and Chris Smith, with the Junior Museum bringing a turtle touch tank and kids’ crafts, a magic show by “Merdwin the Mediocre,” and baby farm animals from Promised Land Farm. The Times Union described the market as a not-for-profit, producer-only market and community gathering place, initiated and governed by local farmers and area residents and sponsored by the Regional Farm and Food Project, open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays from mid-May through October.
