The Record profiled Muddy Trail Jerky Company, a new vendor at the market in 2016. Co-owner Mary Lussier explains that the business began when her husband ate a whole bag of store-bought jerky the night before a camping trip and asked her to make more. The couple then left their retail jobs, bought a house in Granville and converted it into a commercial space, and opened that February. The story describes their four-to-five-day jerky-making process and flavors from original and teriyaki to bacon molasses, sriracha and “wild west.”

“It’s been a lot of fun, and we’ve already met some amazing people.”

— Mary Lussier, co-owner of Muddy Trail Jerky Company, to The Record
