All Over Albany reported that the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market would hold a public workshop with Project for Public Spaces on Nov. 7, 2018, at the Franklin Plaza Ballroom to hear what people want for the market’s future, including a permanent home. Market president Zack Metzger said the growing market needed to address issues such as a space big enough to grow. The post recapped how a permanent market space washed out of the 1 Monument Square plan in 2015, noted that market manager Liz Comitale had told the Times Union in June 2018 that the market was again interested in a home there, and flagged the next 1 Monument Square public meeting. AOA called the market a prime example of how good the region has it. In the comments, one reader argued that the outdoor Monument Square location hurts River Street businesses by blocking access; others replied that the market draws customers to those shops.

“The market has been growing by leaps and bounds in recent years.”

— Zack Metzger, president of the Troy Waterfront Farmers’ Market, in All Over Albany
