The Times Union reported that TWFM was ending its Wednesday afternoon market at the entrance to the Troy Atrium because, despite vendors’ efforts, it hadn’t been profitable; the market called the decision “bittersweet” on Facebook. On the final Wednesday only two farmers set up, The Berry Patch of Stephentown and Mariaville Farms, and both said they would keep selling at the Saturday market. One shopper, a downtown restaurant worker who had just discovered the weekday market, said she was disappointed it was closing.

“The Wednesday market has struggled. People wanted to see more vendors. To get more vendors, you need more customers.”

— Dale Ila Riggs, one of the operators of The Berry Patch, in the Times Union
