The Times Union reported that the Ford Foundation and Project for Public Spaces had selected the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market for a national study measuring the economic impact of farmers markets on local economies. The summer market was held Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Troy Dock and Marina on River Street until November, then moved indoors to the Uncle Sam Atrium on Broadway, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The brief noted that the market was founded in 1999 to provide a year-round marketplace of regional farm and food products, crafts, services and festivities, sponsored by the Regional Farm & Food Project.
“We are thrilled to be chosen as a national case study.”
— Matt Lindstrom, board member and co-founder, in the Times Union
