The food section cover story tested whether a cook could build whole meals from the region’s two largest farmers’ markets, in Saratoga Springs and Troy, and came back with recipes. In Troy, the writer found a line at Mrs. London’s Bakehouse before the 9 a.m. opening bell, emu from Janet Ellsworth’s farm in Easton, breakfast sandwiches from the Bornt Family Farms of Troy, and Adirondack farmstead cheese from Clover Mead Farm.
“The Troy Waterfront Farmers’ Market offers even more variety, with cooked meals, greater variety of meats, homemade breads and even pet food among the tables of seasonal vegetables and fruits.”
