Getting a Second Chance With a First Friend (The Daily Gazette)
This column by Amy Halloran was published in The Daily Gazette on October 20, 2002 (Sunday, page F3).
A note from us: this is a personal story by Amy Halloran, who was the market’s manager at the time. It’s a little different from our usual press coverage, but it offers a glimpse into the people who run the market.

In a personal Viewpoint essay, Amy Halloran, then the market’s manager, wrote about reconnecting with her first childhood friend after 27 years, when the friend turned up at the Troy Waterfront Farmers’ Market and made masks with her children under the kids’ tent, where Halloran’s parents were running the activity that day.
“She showed up at my job, the Troy Waterfront Farmers’ Market, and made a mask with her kids under the kids’ tent.”
