The lead item in Steve Barnes’s Bite-Sized roundup column reported that TWFM, closed since mid-March while managers worked out how vendors could sell with social distancing during the coronavirus shutdown, was taking orders for twice-weekly drive-through pickup at the Carioto Produce distribution center in Green Island. The market’s online portal at troymarket.org offered several hundred items from more than 50 vendors; shoppers paid online, orders were sorted and packed at the pickup site, and pickup times for Wednesday and Saturday were assigned by last name to ease traffic. (The rest of the column covered the Saratoga and Schenectady markets and restaurant news.)
